Jane Eyre, it’s one of my favorite English novels. Another one is Pride and prejudice. The two ladies, Jane and Elizabeth, are some kind of similar. Both of them are independent, long for true love, and defend against the old rules. They don’t have beautiful face, but they have beautiful minds.

When story began, Jane was a little girl living with her aunts and cousins. They didn’t like her, scolded her, treated her just like a nursemaid, and even locked her in the Red House. Later, she was sent to the Lowood School, where she met Helen, her friend. As time went by, the little poor girl grew up. Then she became a governess for a ten-year-old girl at Thornfield, where she met Mr. Rochester, her master. As a governess at Thornfield, she tasted the pleasures and pains of love. She fell in love with Rochester but had to leave him for some reasons. She found shelter at Moor House, where she focused on teaching and rejected Mr. River’s marriage. At the end, Jane returned to Thronfield after Mr. Rochester was blind. They have a quiet wedding:

“I know what it is to be love and be loved. No woman has ever been closer to her husband than I am to Edward. I am my husband’s life, and he is mine. We are always together, and have never had enough of each other’s company.”

Jane had a bad childhood, but it didn’t affect her much. She read books behind the thick curtain; she got education for eight years in poor condition; she was intelligent, sensible and wise. At the relationship with Edward Rochester, she was quite calm. The governess with her beautiful, pure and

frank soul, move Edward. Rochester was rich, clever but a little weird. Jane thought she didn’t really know him and never sure whether he was serious or joking. So she kept a distance with him. Fortunately, she came across the distance and expressed her love to Mr. Rochester:

“Do you think I can watch another woman become your bride? Do you think I’m a machine, without feelings? Do you think, because I’m small and poor and plain, that I have no soul and no heart? Well, you’re wrong! I have as much soul and heart as you. It’s my spirit that speaks to your spirit! We are equal in the sight of God!”

I think when you heard of these words, you would stand at Jane’s side definitely. And that’s love I long for. In our real life, there are many examples that ladies lose themselves and become dependent after marriage. They give up their careers and the husband and kids become their center. For another instance, some ladies get married to the man they don’t love but possess a lot. They regard their husbands as ATMs. For the former, they lose themselves in marriage; for the latter, they do exchange with marriage. Besides, some graduates fall in love with others due to loneliness. You can see such lovers break up upon several months. They do not take love seriously; they do not prepare to love somebody; even, they do not know what love is and how to love. They just pretend to know.

I’ve heard the words: who is a real man? A real man is the one you stay with but you can be yourself. When I was in high school, a Chinese poem

named To the Oak, impressed me a lot. I have to say, that’s the love I appreciate.

Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, "Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood." I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.

"Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life."

I reflected on(仔细考虑) what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him.

Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma(创伤) center. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I"d be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness(知觉) ?" I asked.

Jerry continued, "The paramedics(护理人员) were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, "He's a dead man." "I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry.

"She asked if I was allergic to anything. "Yes," I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, "Bullets!"

Over their laughter, I told them. "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

  Attitude, after all, is everything.

I have got a lot of interesting scientific knowledge from the books of National Geographic Reading Expeditions, some of which are about life, physics. I really can’t help losing myself in the colorful pictures and clear words in the books. After reading the books, I have been considering a question: What if we lived without science? Great changes have taken place in the world with the help of science. In the past, life was nasty, brutish and short. It is hard to imagine how our forefathers could do without so many conveniences that modern science brings about. Back then, only a small group of people enjoyed the very few forts. But the majority of people didn’t even have sufficient food, let along their privilege to be educated. Anyway, it is science that changes the world and makes people’s life better and better, although it also leads to some bad aspects at the same time.

"The old story in the south" is the autobiographical sketch of the famous female writer Lin haiyin, and it can be regarded as her representative work in a long novel set in the background of her life from seven to thirteen years old. In the 1920s, it described a courtyard house in the south of Beijing that housed a warm and happy family. It reveals the joys and sorrows of the adult world through the eyes of the hero and child, and there is a kind of naive innocence, but the world is full of complex emotions.

See "city", my heart overflow up a little bit of warmth, because have seldom see such delicate things, because she doesn't express what painstakingly, only one scene scene to describe a leisurely old Beijing, in the eyes of a child is like living in said it yourself. It was so unobtrusive, so warm and so pure, so pure and indifferent, that it was so full of human fireworks, that there was no pursuit of fame.

Among the books I read, the journey of bitter children is one of my favorite books. At first, I didn’t like reading it very much, but I was fascinated by the strange and fascinating plot in the book and read it in a breath. The story tells the story that the hero of the story, rami, lives in babenhan’s mother’s home, and her mother is very good to him. When Remi was eight, his father was unable to work because of his injury and came back from Paris. Rami learned from his father that he was a foster son, and rami was sad. Because there was no money in the family, the foster father rented him to vagrant artist Vidali, and started his wandering career with the group. Soon the master was in prison, and he had to spend hard with four animals. During this period, he met his mother and younger brother, but he did not know. After leaving her mother, three animals were suffering from misfortune and the owner lost their lives. After Remi was taken in by a gardener, the gardener family suffered another disaster, and he had to go on a journey. He survived the mine and then came to his fake parents I admire Remi’s spirit and courage to be afraid of setbacks. After reading this book, I finally understood the meaning of the saying “how to see rainbow without rain and rain”.

I’m ashamed to think about Remi and think about myself. Sometimes I have a problem doing my homework, so I ask my sister if I don’t think much. After the elder sister explained, I found the problem very simple. I’m far from Remi. After that, I must learn Remy!

a tale of two cities occupies a central place in the canon of charles

dickens's works. this novel of the french revolution was originally serialized in the author's own periodical all the year round. weekly publication of chapters 1-3 of book 1 began on april 30, 1859. in an innovative move, dickens simultaneously released installments of the novel on a monthly basis, beginning with all of book 1 in june and concluding with the last eight chapters of book 3 in december. dickens took advantage of the novel's serial publication to experiment with characterization, plot, and theme. he described the work in a letter to his friend john forster, cited in rudi glancy's a tale of two cities: dickens's revolutionary novel, as "a picturesque story rising in every chapter, with characters true to nature, but whom the story should express more than they should express themselves by dialogue." the novel that emerged from his experimentation is now regarded as one of dickens's most popular and most innovative works.

dickens's work was very popular with the reading public when it was first published. one review in the magazine athenaeum stated that a tale of two cities had attracted the praise of a hundred thousand readers. on the other hand, a whole set of critics, most notably sir james fitzjames stephen writing in saturday review, criticized the novel precisely for its popularity. "most of the critics writing in the intellectual and literary journals of the day considered popular success a good reason to condemn a work," explains glancy. "if the public liked it, they certainly could not be seen to approve of it at all." modern critical opinion, however, has given the novel an important place among dickens's most mature works of fiction.

To Wang Lun is written by Li Bai who among other poets stands out in the halls of glory.

One day, Li Bai goes on abroad. He is about to sail when there’s stamping and singing on shore.

Oh! Here comes Wang Lun to see him off, who is Li Bai’s best friend. Li Bai is very excited to see his best friend at this leaving moment. But he is sad, either. So he can’t say a simple sentence. He knows that words can’t express their friendship. Although the Peach Blossom Pool is one thousand feet deep, it can’t match Wang Lun’s love for him.

Wuthering Heights is Emily Bront's only novel. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and a posthumous second edition was edited by her sister Charlotte.

After reading Wuthering Heights, the love and the hatred between Catherine and Heathcliff still linger in my head. Wuthering Heights gives me a cold, withering, and lonely feeling; however, at the end the book the author shows us that the human kindness is not diminished at Wuthering heights, even though the wind can break off a tree that doesn’t mean it can break off the whole forest. Even though hatred destroyed Heathcliff , Catherine, Edgar and Elizabeth’s happiness, that doesn’t mean Cathy and Hareton’s happiness.

Actually, there is no such a character I really like in Wuthering Heights, every character seems teemed with agony and animosity, especially Heathcliff. Heathcliff is an orphan before Mr.Earnshaw adopt him, and in the novel, it says that Mr.Earnshaw treats Heathcliff even better than his own son, Hindley Earnshaw. It’s quite amazing that in spite of Earnshaw’s nice treatment, Heathcliff has no gratitude at all, he revenged Hindley and Catherine, even their heirs. After reading Heathcliff’story, my feeling is complicated, although he is the avenger who dominate the whole story by using his vengeful machinations, he is also the most pitiful guy in Wuthering Heights; he doesn’t know what is love and don’t know how to love. Heathcliff has lived with the Earnshaws for more than 10 years, but there is no attachment between him and the whole family except Catherine, but even Catherine who was died because of Heathcliff’s tournament. When he is torturing others, he is also giving himself a suffering.

Catherine, who is the heroine in the book, is described by Nelly as capricious and selfish. She is just like Heathcliff, doesn’t know how to love at all.

Anyways, Wuthering Heights gave me a torment, you can’t see any warm scene in the book, all you see is the fierce wind howled, and wild moor. However, at the end, the combination between Hareton and Cathy seems a hopeful light in the darkness, and the break of the day finally coming!

  Reading Report

  Book: The Kite Runner

  Author: Khaled Hosseini

  Pages: 1-163

Brief introduction: Amir is the son of the famous merchant in Afghanistan. There are two servants in his house, Ali and his son Hassan. Amir plays with Hassan all the time in his childhood. Hassan is Hazara, while Amir is Pashtuns. Hazara is discriminated against by Pashtuns. So although Hassan believes that Amir is his friend, Amir does not agree. Amir tricks Hassan sometimes but Hassan never gets angry. Things go peacefully, until one night Amir sees three boys hit Hassan to the ground. Instead of help Hassan, Amir runs away. From that day on, Amir does not know how to face Hassan. In order not to be regretted every second, Amir finally makes Hassan and Ali leave his home. Just after that, Russian forces Amir’s country. Amir and his father have to move to America.

Comments: This book makes me remember my childhood. The first part of the book is only about some little things in Amir’s childhood. The warm and happy time he has with Hassan. They climb tree and hills, play games and tell stories. I am extremely upset to see Hassan leave. Amir thinks he hurts everyone, Hassan, Ali and his Baba. But the one he hurts most deeply is his own. Hassan leave is a wound in Amir’s heart, and it won’t recover forever. This stuff makes Amir hate the life in Afghanistan, because all the disgusting memories are at here. He always hide, hide himself deeply in the books, in his stories. Afghanistan is a country full of violence, Amir can’t live happily in this environment, his father is a true Afghanistan man, and he has force. But Amir doesn’t. Amir is a light boy who only like literary. He is different from other kids, he need a person to protect. He wants his father’s care and love, but his father hide his love deeply in heart, which makes Amir always feel unneeded. Maybe the true reason of the hurt around Amir is his father.

  Digests:

My cheeks burned and guilt coursed through me, the guilt of indulging myself at the expense of his ulcer, his black fingernails and aching wrists. But I would stand my ground, I decided.

I blinked my heart quickening. She had thick black eyebrows that touched in the middle like the arched wings of a flying bird, and the gracefully hooked nose of a princess from old Persia-maybe that of Tahmineh.

They fell from the sky like shooting stars with brilliant, rippling tails, showering the neighborhoods below with prizes for the kite runners.

It just appeared, this other face, for a fraction of a moment, long enough to leave me with the unsettling feeling that maybe I’d seen it someplace before. Then Hassan blinked and it was just him again. Just Hassan.

  Page: 163-401

Brief introduction: Amir becomes a popular writer. He meets a girl named Soraya in USA. They fall in love and get married. But they can’t have babies. His father died because of the illness. One of his father’s old friends calls him and invites Amir to his house. He tells the story over 20 years about Hassan and his family. He tells Amir that Hassan and his wife were killed by Taliban and he

asks Amir to find Hassan’s son, Sohrab. After a hard and dangerous trip with Talib, Amir does find Sohrab and wins his trust. But in order to get the visa to USA, Amir asks Sohrab to stay in the orphan for a year while Amir promised Sohrab before never send him to there. Sohrab try to kill himself because of this. Although he is overcome then, he refuses to say a word for a long time. Amir takes him back to USA and treats him good, waiting for his forgiveness. Then a kite competition held and Amir sees Sohrab’s smile when he wins. Amir sees the hope.

Comments: I can’t explain whether it is a happy or tragic ending. But I can say that Sohrab will get better and be a normal boy. Amir is hard-working. He cares about Hassan’s things. And he is always regretful for kicking Hassan out of his home. He thinks that Hassan died because of his action. He feels shamed. But he is a real human who has the sickness of humanity. That is why he would refuse to find Sohrab at the beginning and that’s why he asks Sohrab to go to orphan after promised not to. Certainly he does wrong things but in another way he does things anybody would choose to do. This book is not only about family and friends, is also about a kind of target or force, to help you run on whether if life is easy or hard.

Digests: We let him wrap us in his arms and, for a brief insane moment, I was glad about whatever had happened that night. (Predicative clause)

It was a protective gesture and I knew whom Ali was protecting him from. (Object clause)

I had crossed a line, and whatever little hope I had of getting out alive had vanished with those words. (Subject clause)

I had no idea if Hassan would still be there, if anyone would even know of him or his whereabouts. (Appositive clause)

学生回答:Yes,he does,再指着女生问:Does she jump high?教师得到的回答自然是No,she doesn’t,这样。

A car.I can see a car.A bus.Ican see a bus.A jeep.I can see…然后,将光束聚焦在一辆小汽车上,问学生:What can you see?引导学生答:Ican see a car.

T:What’s the time?(旧知)S1:It’s three o’clock,(旧知)2 教师将时间拨到3:30。T:What time is it?(新知)S2:It’s three thirty,(旧知)3 学习新句型后,教师让学生向教师提问。S3:What time is it?(刚学的新知)T:n’s halfpast three,(新知)4 教师出示新旧句型,让学生读一读,比一比,想一想,说一说。

Does he live in London?Does he studyChinese,9 Does hertln fast,9 Does he swim well?…

Good morning everyone! I am Cai xx from Class 8, Grade 3 of high school. Here, the book I want to share with you is The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

There is no exaggeration, no moaning without illness, only a concise chapter that delicately outlines family and friendship, betrayal and redemption, without the need for charts and explanations to move and inspire us. There is a understatement similar to Kawabata Yasunari"s "Thousand Feathered Cranes", but not as obscure as Mahafuz"s "Cairo Trilogy" in reality. What is particularly outstanding is the author"s slow yet calm pain, sensitivity, and authenticity.

This novel, set in Afghanistan and the United States in the 1970s, deeply tells the fragile relationship between father and son, man and God, and individual and country, depicting a touching story of loyalty and blood ties. The story of Amir begins with a touch of reminiscence... In Afghanistan"s hometown, Amir and his servant playmate Hassan, as well as his lazy and long childhood, the best moments of life are no more. But the nodes between childhood and adulthood are always filled with sadness. A cut blue kite has become an eternal pain in Amir and Hassan"s hearts. Amir is cowardly and evasive in the face of being insulted by Hassan. The situation has changed, but the sense of guilt has not dissipated due to the passage of time. When all the mysteries about his background were unraveled, Amir"s call for family and conscience became stronger in his heart. In order to find the way to become a good person again, he returned to his hometown, reminiscing about Hassan who had passed away, flying a kite with his child, and expressing his thoughts of "for you thousands of times". It was only when Amir caught a smile on the child"s lips that he truly gained redemption.

Reading this book doesn"t need to be done in one go. Stories with complex details and moving plots often need to be read with a calm mind, just like a gentle breeze brushing a feather and then lightly touching the palm of the hand with a sense of security. Everyone has their own way of recalling past events. Lin Haiyin"s "Old Stories in the South of the City", some have carefree childhood like Little Yingzi"s clear eyes, and Czech poet Sefert"s "The World is Beautiful" filter out heavy past events with warmth and beauty. Perhaps everyone has a blue kite in their heart, accompanied by various heartstrings, but as long as they return to the heart of a child, Willing to make up for it with a lifetime is sure to find the way to become a good person again!

No literary work can be immortal without the background of the times. If the Kite Runner is limited to personal gratitude, resentment, and hatred, then the story will immediately become a failure. On the contrary, in the novel, full of complex cultural sentiment can be seen everywhere. The Soviet invasion, Muslim culture, the outbreak of civil war, the end of monarchy, seemingly unrelated historical plots, are seamlessly integrated into the life background of the hero, It has become the immortality of the novel, just like Bob Dylan and Haruki Murakami, who are also literary masters and addicted to rock and jazz, but the result is ultimately determined by the situation. When Dylan carries a guitar, travels around the world, and cries for freedom and the future, Haruki Murakami is just a student who spends all day in a jazz bar, dreaming of literature, and Haruki Murakami is also a winner of literature, Unfortunately, it was lost to one"s own era, which also confirms the need for good literary works
